Strolling Down Memory Lane
Written by Gayle
I'm feeling a little nostalgic today; our youngest is graduating from high school. So I thought I would share some pictures from when she was just a wee little thing--and we were opening our third store, this one in Goleta.
After a few years of learning and growing with the Oxnard and then the Ventura stores, we felt the time and the opportunity were right to expand a little more. This time we moved up the coast and found a place at 5154 Hollister Ave in Goleta.
One Saturday we took the family to the store and while Peter and I wallpapered, the older kids kept themselves busy with odd jobs, taking care of the little kids, and goofing off. There was still a lot of work to be done at this point!
But it was a productive day--one of many such days! We worked them as much as we could (and allowed them to get as dirty as they wanted!) and then enjoyed a meal at the old Be-Bop Burger in Santa Barbara.
At least one of them has a surfer pose!
The next month we brought everyone back, and saw how much the store had progressed. It was being stocked and readied to welcome our first customers into the store.
I think they were supposed to be helping...
It's hard to believe that it has been 18 years since we opened the store, but I guess that's enough time to grow up and graduate from high school!
Here we are with our biggest and our littlest!
Thank you, Goleta, for welcoming us into the community! It's been wonderful to be your partner in healthy living for all of these years!
